Reet Mishra is a Delhi-based Bollywood singer born in the beautiful lake city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He is the younger son of Smt. Suman Mishra and Shri Ramesh Chandra Mishra, a retired engineer from the Water Resources Department of Madhya Pradesh. His brother lives in Indore with his family.

Due to his father’s transferable job, Reet spent his childhood in different cities across Madhya Pradesh, including Pipariya (near Pachmarhi), Panna—famous for its diamond mines and temples—and Khajuraho. He completed his schooling and graduation in Chhatarpur, MP.

Inspired by his father’s melodious voice, Reet developed a passion for music early in life. Alongside his studies—earning degrees in Mathematics, B.Ed., M.A. English, and Mass Communication—he trained in music under Guru Urmila Pande Ji, a renowned Bundelkhandi folk singer and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, and Late Shri Deshraj Pateria. He later earned a vocal degree from Prayag Sangeet Samiti.

Reet actively participated in cultural programs from childhood and gave a stage performance at just 6 years old. During college, he began professional singing with an orchestra in Chhatarpur. His first earning from a musical show in 1994 was an emotional milestone, which he proudly placed in his father’s hands.

Although his parents wished for him to become an IAS officer, Reet chose to follow his passion for music. In Bhopal, he joined a theatre group as a singer and actor. During Bhopal Utsav Mela, he impressed Bollywood singer Amit Kumar Ji, who shared the stage with him and honored him with an award.

Later, Reet moved to Delhi after joining the Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as an artist.
